If You Don’t Measure it, You Can’t Improve it.

PespiCo., which owns the brand Tropicana recently conducted a Life Cycle Analysis of their orange juice.  It turns out that the greatest amount of carbon emissions comes from actually growing the oranges. PepsiCo was prompted to be concerned about their ecological footprint because of their presence in England where the national environmental consciousnesses is advanced in comparison to the United States.  Consumers should be wary of companies trying to use this information in their marketing campaigns.  It can be misleading. What LCA is great for is making improvements of the supply chain.
